Blue Wave Wins Approval to Roll into Imperial Beach
Developer David Brienza’s proposed Blue Wave mixed-use hotel and apartment development was approved by the Imperial Beach City Council. The complex is planned to include a four-story, z-shaped building with 47 hotel rooms, 51 residential units and a roof deck with a pool.
The project will also have a two-story building to house a first-floor lobby and front desk/reception area and a second-floor restaurant. Plans also include 106 parking spots, 81 of which are contained in an underground parking structure.
The development is slated to be built on a vacant site that once housed the El Camino Motel, which closed in 2007 and was demolished in 2012. The site is on the north side of state Route 75, near the Silver Strand.
