Blackstone Affiliate Completes Makeover of 204 Dallas Affordable Housing Units
April Housing, Blackstone Real Estate’s affordable housing portfolio company, re-opened the West Virginia Park Apartments after renovating 204 units in an affordable housing community in Dallas, Texas.
Originally built in 2004, the community now features modernized one-, two-, and three-bedroom townhome-style apartments, along with revamped amenities, including the clubhouse and pool.
Renovations included:
- Renovated kitchens and bathrooms, with new fixtures, energy efficient appliances and lighting throughout;
- Replacing all hot water heaters and split systems with modern models;
- Modernized community spaces, including two updated playgrounds, pool, and gym facilities; and
- The installation of rooftop solar.
April Housing is one of the largest owners and preservers of affordable housing in the US. Since 2024, the company has successfully completed the preservation of more than 3,000 affordable homes across the country. Through the preservation program, Blackstone Real Estate has invested more than $255 million for upgrades and improvements for residents at these properties.
