UC Increases Blackstone BREIT Stake by $500M Despite Protests

Blackstone Adds Co-Head of Distressed Credit Investing

Blackstone’s global credit platform, GSO Capital Partners, has hired Dan Oneglia as a senior managing director and co-head of its distressed investing business. Oneglia joins GSO after 20 years at Goldman Sachs.

While at Goldman, Oneglia most recently served as a portfolio manager and head of multi-strategy investing in the Americas special situations group. He started his career in the debt capital markets group at Goldman before joining the multi-strategy investing team in 2004.

“Dan’s experience in distressed credit and his approach to the broader debt markets make him an ideal fit for GSO,” said Dwight Scott, president of GSO. “His addition will complement our already strong team, and is another step as we look to build upon this important part of our business.”

With approximately $132 billion of assets under management, GSO is one of the world’s largest alternative managers focused on the leveraged-finance, or non-investment grade related, marketplace.
