BlackRock Signs 132K-SF Lease for Atlanta Innovation Center

Global asset manager BlackRock Inc. signed a 132,000-square-foot lease at 725 Ponce, a new office building overlooking the Atlanta Beltline Eastside Trail. BlackRock will lease the top four floors at the property for its Atlanta innovation center.

New City Properties is developing the 12-story, $200-million project, which is located adjacent to the redevelopment of the former Sears, Roebuck & Co. warehouse, now known as Ponce City Market.

BlackRock’s innovation center is expected to employ as many as 1,000 people. It will be one of three such centers globally for the firm. The other two centers, known as iHubs, are in India and Hungary. The firm is expanding as it deals with changes in the financial sector, including the immense growth of data collection.
