Biotech Firm Takes R&D/Office Space at the Mink Building
Quentis Therapeutics signed a lease for 10,000 square feet of research and development/ laboratory/office space at Janus Property Group’s 1361 Amsterdam Ave. in West Harlem.
The cancer immunotherapy startup is relocating to the building from two locations in Midtown South, thanks in part to a $1-million grant from the New York City Economic Development Corporation.
“The move allows the life sciences firm to consolidate its research facilities into one state-of-the-art location in West Harlem,” said JLL’s John Cahill, who represented Quentis along with Savills Studley’s Evan Margolin. “The location was ideal for Quentis, as its new home is located near Columbia University’s Manhattanville campus and the CUNY Advanced Science Research Center.”
Janus Property was represented in-house on leasing negotiations. The company acquired the five-story property, also known as the Mink Building and originally built as part of the Yuengling Brewery complex, in 1997 and has performed extensive renovations.
