Biopharma Firm Upsizes in Fulton Market Lease

Making room for planned new hires and a local workforce that has nearly doubled over the past two years, Xeris Biopharma Holdings has signed a 13-year lease for about 87,000 square feet at Trammell Crow Company’s 1375 W. Fulton St. In the Fulton Market District, reported Crain’s Chicago Business. The injectable-drug maker had moved its research team from California to Chicago in 2020, early in the COVID-19 pandemic

The new space marks an expansion from Xeris’ existing real estate footprint in the city, which includes a 40,000-square-foot headquarters at 180 N. LaSalle St. and an 11,000-square-foot research lab at 1375 W. Fulton. It also represents a big boost to Fulton Market’s emerging reputation as a biotech hub, Crain’s reported.

CBRE vice chairman Kyle Kamin negotiated the new lease on behalf of Xeris. CBRE SVP Kelsey Scheive represented TCC in negotiations.
