BioMed Realty Signs Amgen to 240K-SF Deal at S. San Francisco Campus
San Diego-based BioMed Realty inked a 240,000-square-foot lease with Amgen at its Gateway of Pacific campus in South San Francisco. The new long-term deal at the 1.3-million-square-foot life science campus that is currently under construction will house Amgen’s Bay Area scientists and employees focused on cardiometabolic, inflammation and oncology research.
BioMed also recently signed leases with leading innovation companies, including: Apple Inc. for the entire 204,000-square-foot ground-up APEX development in San Diego, and Zymergen for 304,000 square feet to relocate its headquarters to BioMed’s Emeryville Center of Innovation in the Bay Area.
BioMed Realty’s Tim Schoen says, “Since October, we have leased 750,000 square feet of new Class A space in California to top tier companies, all of which represents net absorption in our robust development pipeline. We continue to invest in the core life science markets in our mission to support industry expansion and regional economic development.”
