
BioMed Acquires Lab-Capable Building in South Lake Union
Seattle’s thriving life science industry continues to expand following the BioMed Realty purchase of the 154,000-square-foot facility located in the South Lake Union neighborhood. The property at 1101 Westlake Ave. N is currently 100% leased to Meta.
BioMed’s CEO Tim Schoen said in a news release, “Seattle remains one of the nation’s foremost hubs for life science technology, driven by a highly educated workforce, growing population and leading research institutions.” Jon Bergschneider, West Coast President of BioMed added, “The acquisition of this prominent, 100% leased property will enable us to support the city’s innovation ecosystem and talent-rich community now and into the future.”
Meta joins the list of BioMed’s impressive Seattle tenants, including Novo Nordisk, Omeros Corporation, InBios International, Shape Therapeutics, salesforce.com and Seattle Children’s Hospital.
