BG Group to Vacate 354K SF at BG Group Place

BG Group plc, recently acquired by Royal Dutch Shell plc, will be vacating BG Group Place in downtown Houston. BG Group’s North American operations, which currently encompasses 354,000 square feet, will reportedly vacate the building at 811 Main by the end of the year.

BG Group’s trading employees will relocate to 1000 Main. Other BG Group staff will move either to One Shell Plaza in downtown Houston, the Shell Technology Center in West Houston, or the company’s Woodcreek campus in the Energy Corridor.

BG Group Place was completed in 2011 by developer Hines. BG Group signed a lease that included signage rights for the 1.5-million-square-foot building in 2010. Hines sold the building in 2013 to Atlanta-based Invesco for $480 million.
