Bexar County Plans 8-Story Parking Deck

Bexar County confirmed plans to build an eight-story, 750-space parking lot, with ground-floor space, on the south side of downtown San Antonio. The $26 million project will be at 126 E. Nueva St., behind the Bexar County Archives Building. The ground-floor space will be reserved for as-yet unknown county purposes.

County employees currently park at a smaller parking deck along South Flores Street. Once employees park at the garage (which will be built on what is currently a surface parking lot), the South Flores garage will be used by jurors and others who have business with the county.

A construction timeline has not been announced. However, once the project breaks ground, it is expected to take 14 to 16 months to complete. Saldana & Associates Inc. is the architect, and Joeris General Contractors the general contractor.
