Bessemer Trust Takes Top 7 Floors at Rock Group’s 1271 Sixth

Bessemer Trust will occupy the top seven floors at Rockefeller Group’s 1271 Ave. of the Americas. The privately-owned multifamily office is leasing 239,000 square feet of headquarters space at the 48-story tower, and will relocate from 630 Fifth Ave. in 2021.

“Bessemer Trust’s distinguished history and reputation made them one of the most sought-after tenants in Manhattan,” said Rockefeller Group president and CEO Daniel Moore. “We are thrilled to welcome them to 1271 Ave. of the Americas, and look forward to working with them for years to come.”

A Cushman & Wakefield leasing team led by John Cefaly and a financial-consulting team led by Peyton Horn represented Bessemer. Building ownership was represented by an in-house leasing team led by Ed Guiltinan, along with CBRE’s Mary Ann Tighe, Howard Fiddle, John Maher, Dave Caperna, Evan Haskell and Sarah Pontius. The lease brings the repositioned property to more than 70% occupancy.
