Berkadia Expands Mortgage Banking Platform 

Berkadia has hired Hunter Wood as senior director in its Richmond, Virginia office. Wood will be arranging debt and equity on behalf of multifamily and commercial real estate investors and services clients nationally. 

With a focus on D.C., Maryland, and Virginia, Wood’s expertise spans debt and equity structuring for multifamily and commercial real estate. He joins Berkadia from Northmarq, contributing to over $3 billion in property transactions across various sectors. Prior to Northmarq, Hunter was in a Finance Rotational Program at WestRock, a Fortune 500 packaging company based in Virginia. 

“I’m grateful and excited to join a team that has had such success advising CRE clients in the greater Mid-Atlantic,” said Wood. “In 2022, the team advised over 50 clients totaling $2.30 billion in transaction volume. I’m looking forward to working with our clients to navigate the CRE capital markets on both debt and equity fronts.”
