Berkadia Arranges WI Portfolio Deal for Weidner

Berkadia arranged the sale of a portfolio of two multifamily properties totaling 364 units in the suburbs of Madison, WI. The properties that traded to Weidner Apartment Homes included the 164-unit Van Buren Place in Sun Prairie, WI, and the newly-built, 200-unit The Park in DeForest, WI.

Ralph DePasquale, Parker Stewart and Alex Blagojevich of Berkadia’s Chicago office completed the sale on behalf of the seller, Wisconsin-based Cascade Development. The purchase price wasn’t disclosed.

Clay Akiwenzie of Berkadia’s San Francisco office, along with Chris Blechschmidt and Emily Stang of the firm’s Chicago office, procured acquisition financing for the portfolio. The financing from a major life insurance company included a combination of a loan assumption and new debt.

“The offering of a portfolio in the Madison market is truly rare, especially when you consider the total number of units and the quality of these assets,” said DePasquale.

Connect Chicago Fall 2019 will take place Oct. 29 in Chicago. For more information, or to register, click here.
