Berkadia Arranges $10M Refinancing of Newly Built DC Apartments

Berkadia has arranged a $9.5 million refinancing for Bonsai Apartments, a newly constructed, 41-unit boutique multifamily community located in Washington, D.C.’s H Street Corridor.

Senior Managing Director Mitch Sinberg, and Managing Directors Matt Robbins, Scott Wadler and Brad Williamson of Berkadia Boca Raton and Miami, alongside Managing Director Brian Gould of Berkadia DC Metro, arranged the financing on behalf of the owner, July Residential. Revere Capital provided a two-year floating-rate loan with two one-year extension options.

Completed in 2024 and located at 1214 Bladensburg Road, Bonsai Apartments features 41 modern residences. The four-story community offers a mix of studio, one- and two-bedroom floor plans ranging from 442 to 940 square feet, with Japanese-inspired finishes and light-filled interiors.

The property is conveniently located less than three miles from downtown Washington, D.C. and Capitol Hill, approximately five miles from Reagan National Airport, offering easy access to major employment centers, transit corridors, and regional thoroughfares.
