Berenberg Leases in Midtown Landmark

The second oldest bank in the world has rented the top floor of 1251 Avenue of the Americas, a landmark office tower at Rockefeller Center in Midtown.

Berenberg Capital Markets, a wholly owned subsidiary of German bank Berenberg, signed a 10-year lease for 31,700 square feet at the 2.1 million-square-foot tower, filling the entire 53rd floor.

“Berenberg Capital Markets’ new offices on the top floor provide 15-foot ceilings, and incredible natural light and views in all directions,” added Benjamin Bass, vice president with JLL, which represented Berenberg in the transaction. Newmark Grubb Knight Frank represented the building owners.

Completed in 1971, the limestone-clad office tower is a local landmark.
