BentallGreenOak Funds Sustainable Features for West Pullman Build Day

The Chicago office of BentallGreenOak is participating in Habitat for Humanity Chicago’s Build Day in the Far South Side’s West Pullman neighborhood, set for August 16. Through its Corporate Caring program, the company is funding high-efficiency windows, insulation, tankless water heaters and other sustainable building materials.

The program operates on the premise that building affordable housing isn’t enough when housing insecurity may be worsened by climate change in the coming years. Accordingly, Habitat Chicago is helping 45 low- to moderate-income families achieve affordable homeownership in new, energy efficient homes that are built to exceed the city’s Green Homes Program standards.

It’s part of Habitat Chicago’s multi-year commitment to revitalize two vacant blocks in Chicago’s West Pullman neighborhood. BentallGreenOak is partnering with Habitat Chicago specifically to invest in sustainable building features that will lessen the impact of climate change on residents.

Connect Chicago Fall 2019 will take place Oct. 29 in Chicago. For more information, or to register, click here.
