Bellmead Plans Pro Baseball Stadium

The city of Bellmead, just north of Waco, TX, has come to an agreement with the newly formed Southwest League of Professional Baseball to build a ballpark at Research Avenue and Loop 340. If all goes according to plan, construction could begin in the latter part of this year, and a team could begin play in April 2018.

The stadium itself would seat 2,000-4,000 people. The plan also calls for a 30,000-40,000-square-foot commercial real estate component, which could consist of office space, restaurants or apartment lofts.

The city and league signed a memorandum of understanding for the due diligence period. The formal contract should be developed and signed within the next 180 days.
