Bellevue College Breaks Ground on $54M Arts Building

Bellevue College officially broke ground on its new W Building, a 56,618-square-foot arts facility that marks a major expansion on its 100-acre campus.

The project will bring the college’s total building footprint to over 1 million square feet and aims to redefine the student experience through modern, collaborative spaces. College leaders and city officials gathered for the groundbreaking ceremony, celebrating the $54 million project that blends new construction and renovations to the existing C Building.

Designed by Mithun and built by Comer General Contractors, the W Building will include studios, workshops, a gallery, and a makerspace, fostering cross-disciplinary innovation across art and technology programs.

“The W Building is a launchpad for creativity,” said Art Department Chair Chad White. With completion expected by winter 2027, the space will support Bellevue College’s growing focus on STEAM education, featuring cutting-edge equipment, sustainable features, and enhanced opportunities for student collaboration.
