Bell Textron seeking tax breaks for DFW factory

Bell Textron Awaits DFW Factory Tax Breaks

It’s not a sure thing, but it seems to be getting closer. Bell Textron says it is exploring the possibilities of building a $429 million manufacturing plant in Fort Worth but has to wait to see what type of tax breaks and incentives are available. The 450,000-square-foot building Bell is looking at what was previously occupied by Stanley Black and Decker Tooling at 15100 North Beach St.

The company will build components to supply the V-280 Valor helicopter. The building would be primarily used for manufacturing, warehousing and distribution.

The Fort Worth-based company applied for a 10-year tax abatement via the state’s new school property tax incentives program.

The city is considering an additional tax abatement for the company. The tax break would apply to 34.3 acres and include at least $122,000 in building improvements. The town will vote on the matter next month. If successful, it would add over 400 jobs to the area with salaries over $85,000 yearly.
