Bell to spend $20M on FW plant expansion

Bell Helicopter to Add $20M Unit to Forth Worth Facility

Plant 5 will be the site for a new two-level, tilt-up 37,775 square foot building in Fort Worth. The project is expected to cost over $20 million. Bennett Partners is the architectural firm. Start date for the project is June 1 of this year with the completion date set for March, 30, 2024.

Bell was in the news last week for its Bell 505 model, which completed its first flight fueled solely by 100% Sustainable Aviation Fuel (SAF), marking the first-ever single engine helicopter to fly with 100% SAF. It used bio-based feedstocks to power the helicopter without requiring any engine modifications.

In December, Bell beat two of the biggest defense contractors in the industry for a U.S. Army contract to manufacture the replacement of the Black Hawk. The contract could be worth about $70 billion for decades to come. The first set of helicopters will be worth $7.1 billion.
