Bedding Company Expands to 1220 Third Ave.

A Lee & Associates NYC team of Peter Braus, Greg Tannor and JP Sutro has negotiated a 6,165-square-foot, long-term lease at 1220 Third Ave. for Long’s Bedding & Interiors Inc.

A fourth-generation family business since 1911, the bedding company is expanding from its current outpost at 121 W. 72nd St., due mainly to a need for more space and also to 1220 Third’s history of retail success.

“Long’s is a terrific, family-owned business,” said Braus, whose leasing team represented both the tenant and 1220 Third’s ownership, the Townsend House Corporation. “Their move to Third Avenue is a demonstration of the continuing strength of this corridor.

“The high-density, high-income demographics are ideal for Long’s,” Braus added. “Ownership was very proactive and responded to the tenant’s needs, and we were delighted to help forge a long-term, mutually-beneficial partnership.”
