Beacon Communities Names New SVP. Development

Beacon Communities promoted LeAnn Hanfield Curtin to SVP, development. Curtin will lead the development team in Beacon’s Boston corporate office and oversee the company’s affordable and mixed-income residential projects in Massachusetts and Connecticut. She will also join the company’s senior leadership team.

With more than 15 years of experience in real estate and affordable housing, Curtin has managed the implementation of over 3,000 residential units across New England, New York, and the Mid-Atlantic. Her work spans complex adaptive reuse projects, mixed-use new construction and complex rehabilitations of existing housing.

Her team is currently overseeing two projects in New Haven, CT: The Atwater at Ninth Square, a mixed-use, historically sensitive development; and Brewery Square Apartments, another historic rehabilitation project in partnership with CPP. In Massachusetts, she is closing on a large, new-construction development at 299 Broadway in Somerville that will include housing, retail spaces, landscaped open space and a new public park.
