Beacon Capital to Shell out $470M for Chicago’s AMA Plaza

Beacon Capital Partners struck a deal with Riverview Realty Partners to acquire the AMA Plaza in the River North submarket of Chicago for $470 million. The Boston buyer’s transaction, when it closes, will represent the largest in Chicago so far this year.

Beacon Capital has under contract the office portion of the Mies van der Rohe-designed tower at 330 N. Wabash, which delivered in the early 1970s. The deal covers more than one million square feet of office space, and approximately 900 parking spaces. Not included in the transaction is the separately-owned Langham Chicago, a luxury hotel on the second through 13th floors.
