Baylor Scott & White Heads to Buda

Baylor Scott & White (BS&W) is making plans to build a full-service hospital in Buda, TX, south of Austin. The medical system will invest at least $35 million in land, buildings, equipment, inventory and other improvements needed for the medical facility, which will total 70,000 square feet.

According to the agreement, the new hospital will be built in 19 acres on Farm-to-Market Road 2001, and will be open and operational by Dec. 31, 2019. The facility will include a full-service emergency department, medical office space, operating rooms and imaging services. Once open, the hospital will be BS&W’s first full-service hospital in Hays County.

The announcement capped off two years of negotiation with the city of Buda and the Buda Economic Development Corp.
