Bay Area to Host Its Third Super Bowl in 2026
NFL owners approved the San Francisco 49ers’ Levi’s Stadium in Santa Clara as the host site of Super Bowl LX in 2026. It will be the Bay Area’s third Super Bowl and the second one for Levi’s Stadium since opening in 2014.
“The Bay Area was an incredible host for Super Bowl 50, and we are thrilled to bring the Super Bowl back,” said NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell. “We look forward to working with the 49ers and the Bay Area Host Committee to create an impactful Super Bowl LX in 2026 that showcases all the great things the region has to offer.”
The San Francisco Business Times reported that the Bay Area’s successful bid to host the annual championship represents a shot in the arm for the region’s hospitality sector. “This is a huge win for our region and our economy,” said Joe D’Alessandro, San Francisco Travel’s president and CEO.
