Baton Rouge: The Retailer Launch Pad to Louisiana

Many retail companies interested in setting up shop in Louisiana are making their first stop in the state’s capital city of Baton Rouge, and expanding from there. In early March, Buc-ee’s, the Texas rest stop and convenience store chain announced it would place its first Louisiana location at the Greens of Millerville. Meanwhile, Main Event Entertainment is preparing its Louisiana Launch at the Siegen Lane Marketplace near Interstate 10.

Other companies that have done the same include Trader Joe’s, MOOYAH Burgers, Newk’s Eatery, Which Wich, Cowboy Chicken, Java Mama and Freddy’s Frozen Custard & Steakburgers.

Experts believe the reasons for this are infrastructure (Baton Rouge is on I-10), a solid employment base, and Louisiana State University. It’s also one of the most densely populated areas in the state.
