Bass Pro Shops has opened its 15th retail location in Grand Prairie, the fifth store in DFW. More than 130 “Outfitters” will help customers navigate the new 100,000-square-foot retail destination, which is located at 3720 S State Highway 161.

The company was founded by Johnny Morris in 1972. After noticing growing interest in the sport, Johnny started Bass Pro Shops with 8 square feet of space in the back of his father’s liquor store in Springfield, Missouri. This was the company’s sole location for the first 13 years of business. Bass Pro Shops now has nearly 200 retail stores and marine centers across North America, and Outfitters welcomes more than 200 million visitors annually. Bass Pro Shops’s annual revenue is $6.5 billion and has 40,000 workers worldwide.
