BASF Finalizes $270M Beaumont Plant Expansion
BASF Corp. completed a $270-million plant expansion at its Beaumont, TX facility. The North American arm of the German chemical company spent three years improving its chemical plant on the Gulf Coast.
The capital investment was the largest agricultural products facility investment in the company’s history, and represented roughly half of what the company spent on nine different BASF sites in North America. The Beaumont plant is the largest facility, and the only one in the U.S. to manufacture the herbicide dicamba.
The company said the improvements were made in order to keep pace with changes in the agricultural market, including demand from growers for the latest and most effective technologies to increase profitability.
