Barrington Brothers’ Fourth Miami Multifamily Pays Tribute to Tequesta Tribe
Barrington Brothers has commenced construction of The Kavista, a $60-million multifamily development in the Village of El Portal, FL in Miami-Dade County. JLL arranged construction financing from Trez Capital.
The Kavista will be an eight-story building on NE 83rd Street between Miami Shores and Little River. It will offer 282 one-, two-, and three-bedroom apartments and ground floor live-work units.
The Kavista’s interior design is inspired by local Native American lifeways and culture and celebrates early Miami-Dade history. It pays tribute to the Tequesta Tribe, who built many villages at the mouth of the Miami River and along the coastal islands including what is today the Village of El Portal.
The Kavista’s community amenities include a bird-friendly environment filled with a variety of trees and plants to attract a wide range of popular birds.
The general contractor for The Kavista is ANF Group; the architect and interior designer is MODIS Architects; and Nielsen Landscape Architects is the landscape architect. Adams Gallinar, P.A, provided legal counsel.
