Barksdale Federal Credit Union opened shop in Longview, TX when, in late 2017, the company paid $1.3 billion to consolidate with AMOCO Federal Credit Union. Less than a year later, the Bossier City, LA-headquartered BFCU announced a second Longview location, in addition to its current operating branch at 1507 Pine Tree Rd.

The financial firm hired McBride Builders Inc. to demolish a house at 213 Skyline Dr. and replace it with a 3,100-square-foot building. The project’s construction costs will be just north of $1 million. “Longview is a great area,” Barksdale’s Melissa Couch told the Longview News-Journal. “We have looked into expanding into this market.”

The credit union was founded in 1954 on Barksdale Air Force Base. The company has 22 branches, all in Louisiana, except for the two Longview, TX locations.
