Barberino’s Opens First US Location in the Plaza District

Tishman Speyer has announced the opening of Barberino’s, an Italian hair and skincare boutique, at 520 Madison Avenue in the Plaza District. This marks Barberino’s first U.S. location. The 753-square-foot retail space features three barber chairs and offers a range of services including haircuts, shaves, beard trims, and more. Barberino’s operates 18 shops in Italy and opened its first international location in Seoul last year.

Schuster Group, Inc.’s Scott Schuster and AM-PS’ Lucas Kooyman represented Barberino’s in identifying and securing their first boutique in the U.S.  Tishman Speyer was represented in the transaction by Alissa Bersin and Reed Zukerman of its in-house retail leasing team.

“At the heart of the Plaza District, 520 Madison Avenue was the ideal location for Barberino’s to plant their first U.S. flagship, with strong high-end co-tenancy and the ideal demographic for the upscale line of products and services on offer,” said Lucas Kooyman, vice president at AM-PS. The tower is also home to other retailers like Sephora, Rhone Apparel, Reiss, and birddogs.
