Banner Health’s $155M Hospital Approved in Chandler, AZ
Banner Health received the go-ahead from the city of Chandler, AZ to build a $155-million 96-bed hospital at Alma School and Willis roads. The 18-acre site is south of Loop 202, and adjacent to an existing Banner Health primary-care center.
The non-profit health care system envisions expanding into a 245,000 square-foot hospital, with future campus phases encompassing another 82,800 square feet. The first phase of construction is expected to begin this month, with delivery anticipated in November 2020.
The new facility is expected to bring 650 jobs to the city, and provide more health care options closer to where people live in the southwest Phoenix suburb. To help alleviate traffic, Banner will expand Alma School Road from two to three lanes, and add a left-turn light at the Alma School and Willis roads intersection.
