BankNote Building 92% Occupied
May 2, 2017
America Works of New York, a job networking company, took a total of 14,564 square feet of office space in the historic BankNote Building at 890 Garrison Ave. in the Hunts Point section of the Bronx.
“The outer boroughs are attracting a great deal of attention as ideal areas for affordable office space,” said Greg Smith, president of JRT Realty Group, which arranged the transaction. “The BankNote Building stands out as a superb example of an emerging, urban location situated in close proximity to the heart of New York.”
JRT also arranged a lease renewal for Lightbox-NY, a daylight film and photography studio and event space for 11,500 square feet. Built in 1909, the four-building, 405,000-square-foot Banknote Building is 92% occupied. Owners Madison Marquette and Perella Weinberg acquired the Bronx landmark in September 2015.
