Bank Expands to 160K SF at Irvine Co.’s The Plaza UTC
BofI Federal Bank leased 160,000 square feet at Irvine Company’s The Plaza in La Jolla UTC. The bank, which is America’s oldest and most trusted digital bank, will rebrand its name to Axos Bank this fall.
The technology-driven financial services company will occupy nearly 140,000 square feet at the six-building, 17-acre, The Plaza in La Jolla UTC, and an additional 22,000 square feet in nearby Eastgate. The company’s lease includes building top signage at Pacifica Tower and the 17th and 18th penthouse floors, which haven’t been on the market for 30 years. The Plaza is now 95% leased.
Since first moving into Irvine Company offices in 2012, the company has expanded seven times at The Plaza and Eastgate, more than quadrupling its overall San Diego presence. The Plaza features three towers and three campus-style office buildings, with 825,000 square feet of premium workspace nestled within a lush, park-like setting.
