Bank of America Taking Down 53K SF in Consolidation Move

Bank of America Corp. has inked a deal for approximately 53,000 square feet in the under-construction Third + Shoal in Austin’s central business district. The new space will effectively combine local corporate office operations, which currently operate at 515 Congress Ave. Also making the move will be BofA’s Merrill Lynch division, which currently leases space at 111 Congress Ave.

“The new office will give us the opportunity to combine all of our lines of business under one roof,” Bank of America’s Nikki Graham told the Austin Business Journal. The bank will take three floors atop the 29-story, 345,000-square-foot office building. Bank of America will place a new “advanced center” on the ground floor of the building; a banking center without tellers.

TIER REIT Inc. of Dallas is co-developing the tower with Invesco Real Estate and Cielo Property Group of Austin. The tower shell is planned for a 3Q 2018 completion.
