Baltimore Apartment Tower Trades for $22M

Baltimore-based commercial real estate and investment company Byrnes & Associates has brokered the $22 million sale of The Munsey Apartment Building, an 18-story apartment building in Baltimore.

Located at 7 N. Calvert St., the tower was constructed in 1911 and features 149 studio, one and two-bedroom apartment homes. Originally built as an office building, the property was converted to multifamily use in 2002. During the renovation process, the owners retained the grand entranceway and front door, as well as its distinctive marble flooring. Resident amenities include 64 parking spaces, a modern fitness center, business center and community club room. The building is named for Frank Munsey, the publisher and owner of the daily newspaper Baltimore News, which occupied the commercial office building for many years before being acquired by newspaper magnate William Randolph Hearst.

Brad Byrnes of Byrnes & Associates represented both the seller, LC3 Investors Baltimore LLC and the buyer, PMC Property Group Inc. in the transaction.
