Balfour Beatty Selected for TWU Student Housing
Balfour Beatty Campus Solutions was selected by Texas Woman’s University in Denton, TX, to develop a new student housing project. The development, named Residential Village, will be east of Bell Avenue, and will consist of approximately 875 beds. The housing units will replace an existing soccer field, which will be relocated.
Hill & Wilkinson, with architect Stantec, will lead the design/build team. The project is scheduled for a fall 2019 opening. The buildings will feature classrooms, a fitness center, exploratory learning and recreation space, and 30,000 square feet of residential dining space.
“In recent years, TWU has used hotels and leased apartments off campus to accommodate our students,” said Monica Mendez-Grant, TWU vice president for student life. “This new Residential Village Project will bring those students back to campus, and create an environment for our sophomore students that does not exist today.”
Denton is approximately 40 miles north of Dallas.
