Bainbridge Naval Training Center Reactivated into $300M Logistics Complex
A flag-raising ceremony has heralded reactivation of Baltimore’s Bainbridge Naval Training Center into the Bainbridge Logistics Center. The development is a project of Baltimore-based MRP Industrial and Dallas, TX-based Hillwood Development Company.
Phase I carries a $300-million development budget and will deliver 3.7 million square feet of logistics and distribution space across 440 acres. The site will be mass graded to pad-ready condition and speculative construction will commence on the first two of four planned buildings (1,026,000 and 605,280 square feet).
Established in 1941, the United States Naval Training Center, Bainbridge served as one of three major introduction centers for naval recruits. In 1976, the property was secured and decommissioned by the US Navy, then in 2000 was transferred to the State of Maryland and the Bainbridge Development Corporation to facilitate a transfer to the private sector.
