Back Bay Mid-Rise Office Changes Hands

One of the largest office transactions in Boston’s Back Bay in over three years. 855 Boylston Street, a mid-rise office/retail asset totaling 142,765 square feet across 11 stories and fully leased to 13 tenants, was sold to offshore buyer 855 Boylston Inc. The price was not disclosed.

The asset features updated amenities, including an enhanced lobby and glass curtainwall, multiple outdoor terraces, and underground parking spaces. The property had received recognition from the Building Owners and Managers Association (BOMA) Boston as the Outstanding Building of the Year (TOBY) in 2022, and it is both Energy Star certified and WELL Health-Safety rated.

Robert Griffin, Edward Maher, Matthew Pullen and Samantha Hallowell of Newmark represented the seller and procured the offshore buyer.
