Azusa Pacific University Renews, Expands to 48K-SF

Azusa Pacific University signed a 48,000-square-foot lease expansion and extension at Kearny Real Estate’s Mission Center, a three-building, 183,692-square-foot office park in San Diego. The space at 5333 and 5353 Mission Center Rd. serves as the university’s regional campus.

CBRE’s Greg Nassir and Scott Kincaid represented the tenant. JLL’s Richard Gonor, Tony Russell and Brandt Riedman advised the landlord.

Gonor said, “Our recent leasing success is a testament to the area’s demand for well-located quality properties with highly desirable amenities.” In the past 12 months, the JLL leasing team completed leases with 10 tenants, totaling more than 80,000 square feet at Mission Center.

Kearny acquired the asset in 2015 for $29.2 million, and completed a $3.5-million renovation. That included updates to lobbies and landscaping, adding a free bike sharing program, new atrium furniture, outdoor ping pong table, gym and exclusive outdoor patios attached to ground floor suites.
