Ayden Doubles Footprint of Union Square Offices

JLL and Madison Capital have completed a 30,415-square-foot lease at 71 Fifth Ave. in Manhattan’s Union Square neighborhood with Dutch payment company Ayden. The tenant signed for 15,177 square feet on the entire 10th floor and 15,238 square feet for the entire 11th floor penthouse, relocating and expanding from 18 E.16th St.

Adyen was represented by Transwestern partner Rory Murphy and SVP Thomas Hines. Madison Capital was represented by JLL vice chairman Mitchell Konsker, executive managing director Dan Turkewitz and managing director Benjamin Bass, along with Madison Capital’s J. Joseph Jacobson, Jonathan Ratner and Cindy Chang.

Constructed in 1907, the 11-story 71 Fifth has undergone an intensive capital improvement program.

“This property provides superior space in an ideal location,” Konsker said. “The space benefits from the vibrant neighborhood and provides an opportunity for tenants to attract the best talent due to the flexible floor plates, location and building amenities.”
