Axis Insurance Leases 40K SF with Minskoff Equities in Midtown

Axis Insurance has leased 40,240 square feet of office space at 1166 Ave. of the Americas, a 44-story tower occupying the entire block front of Ave. of the Americas between 45th and 46th streets in Midtown. The insurer will relocate from 1211 Ave. of the Americas in the fourth quarter.

Built in 1975, 1166 Ave. of the Americas encompasses 1.6 million square feet of Class A office space. Edward J. Minskoff Equities (EJME) owns condominium interests comprising floors 2 through 21.

JLL vice chairman Paul N. Glickman, SVP Diana L. Biasotti, vice chairman Cynthia Wasserberger and executive managing director Christine Colley represented EJME in the 10-year lease. Axis Insurance was represented by CBRE’s Michael Monaghan, Mark Ravesloot and Michael Poch.

“EJME’s ongoing investment in 1166 Ave. of the Americas and its commitment to the tenant experience has positioned the property as one of Midtown’s premier office destinations,” said Glickman.
