AW Texas Breaks Ground on $400M Facility
AW Texas, a subsidiary of Aisin AW Co. Ltd., broke ground on its third transmission plant in the United States. The 159-acre plant, located in Cibolo, TX, will produce automatic transmissions, and is scheduled to begin operations in September 2021. The $400-million facility is expected to bring approximately 900 new jobs to the area during the next five years.
The project resulted from a collaborative effort between the City of Cibolo, Guadalupe County, Guadalupe Valley Electric Cooperative (GVEC), the San Antonio Economic Development Foundation, and the State of Texas. “We are grateful for the partnership with AW Texas. Cibolo offers a thriving business environment and ideal location for this type of investment, and we look forward to our continued relationship with the company,” said City Manager Robert T. Herrera of Cibolo, Texas.
Connect Industrial is coming up on November 19th in Houston. You can get more details and register to attend on this link.
