Avondale’s The BLVD Moving to Next Phase

The City of Avondale has selected Blueprints Capital and Whitten Development to develop entertainment, retail and restaurant attractions on a 16-acre parcel at Avondale and Van Buren.

AZBEX reports that the City will now enter formal negotiations with Blueprints Capital to define the scope and details of the project.

The approved site is within the greater site for The BLVD, which covers 356 acres and has been in development for more than 20 years. The BLVD., which was established in 2018 has grown significantly, boasting four hotels, four multifamily housing developments and over 23 retail and restaurant establishments, including the American Sports Center, located in the Park District, which attracts over 500,000 visits annually.

Blueprints Capital plans will include approximately 22,000 square feet of retail space, 40,000 square feet of restaurant and bar space with lakefront dining, 65,000 square feet of entertainment and ‘eatertainment’ uses, and approximately 13,000 square feet of office space.  Whitten is proposing to build and operate a six-story, 180-key full-service hotel.
