Avison Team Arranges Industrial Lease in Batavia

Avison Young negotiated an 86,251-square-foot industrial lease at 1020 Olympic Dr. in Batavia, IL. The firm’s Chicago-based Tom Curtis, John Moysey and Fort Richardson represented Midwest Industrial Funds. Brendan Sheahan of Darwin Realty represented the tenant, Second City Prints.

Midwest Industrial Funds recently completed a significant renovation of the building, after purchasing it in 2019 in a transaction negotiated by the Avison Young team. Avison Young was then retained to market the repositioned asset.

“This transaction demonstrates the tremendous potential for investors looking to tap into—and create equity within—the Class B industrial market in Chicago,” said Curtis. “With the right location, building and repositioning plan, an investor can support the needs of today’s industrial tenants while creating long-term value.”

The tenant is moving to the Olympic Drive facility from another Batavia location. The company provides merchandise printing, webstore management and tour merchandise fulfillment services for the music industry.
