Avalara Inks 100K SF in Seattle

Tech company Avalara signed a 10-year lease to take down 100,000 square feet at under-construction Hawk Tower at 255 King St. in Seattle. The new tenant has naming rights as part of the deal, with the building to be named Avalara Hawk Tower. Additionally, the company has options to take more space in the 215,000-square-foot building.

The company’s employees are currently spread over several locations throughout Seattle. When the building opens in 2017, all area employees will be in the same building for the first time since 2011. Avalara Hawk Tower is part of Stadium Place, billed as the West Coast’s largest transit-oriented development.

Scotta Ashcraft and Dwight Newell of CBRE represented developer American Life in the transaction. Tony Ford and Bill Cooper of Colliers were the tenant reps.
