Auto Insurer Buys Miami Building for New HQ

Windhaven Insurance acquired a 57,500-square-foot, three-story, single-user office building in Miami’s Doral submarket from 3155 NW 77 AVE, LLC for $10.35 million. The Florida- and Texas-based auto insurance carrier plans to consolidate two existing offices in Miami into one expanded headquarters location.

Located at 3155 NW 77th Ave., the office property is hurricane-ready with an on-site backup generator and features a gated entrance, attractive lobby area, cafeteria, and private parking structure allowing for an above-market parking ratio.

Avison Young’s John K. Crotty and David F. Spillers represented the buyer. Avison Young has also been retained to help oversee project management during the buildout and retrofitting process.

Crotty says, “The acquisition allows Windhaven Insurance to merge its two currently leased office spaces into one ideal building, easily accessible for employees from the Palmetto Expressway.”
