Australian Tech Firm Diraq to Join Chicago’s Quantum Park
Australian firm Diraq plans to build and scale its U.S. quantum operations in Chicago, and the company has signed a letter of intent to join the Illinois Quantum and Microelectronics Park (IQMP).
Diraq will take space at the new 128-acre campus rising on the former 500-acre U.S. Steel South Works site on the city’s South Side. “We’ve been encouraged by the incredible interest from businesses across the globe who want to establish a presence at the Park, and we look forward to working with the talented team at Diraq as they continue advancing their quantum processors,” said Harley Johnson, Executive Director and CEO of the Illinois Quantum and Microelectronics Park.
Last summer, Governor Pritzker and officials announced the multibillion-dollar, public-private IQMP that will include shared cryogenic facilities, equipment labs, and research spaces. Along with anchor tenant PsiQuantum, the Park will be home to the state’s partnership with DARPA on the Quantum Proving Ground.
