Austin’s East 12th Street Corridor to See Major Changes
The owner of multiple properties along East 12th Street shared plans with the City of Austin to bring hundreds of homes and thousands of square feet of commercial space to the corridor as a push to revitalize the area. Representatives of Eureka Development Group outlined the proposal that centers on five projects along East 12th Street:
—73,000 square feet of residential space with 108 units.
—6,000 square feet of commercial space: 53,000 square feet of residential space with 75 units.
—10,000 square feet of commercial space.
—86,000 square feet of residential space with 126 units, 20,000 square feet of commercial space:
—40,000 square feet of residential space with 50 units, 3,000 square feet of commercial space
Eureka is looking to stay entirely within the confines of the sites’ current zoning, therefore eliminating public hearings from the process.
