Austin Public Health Provider Buys Cameron Road MOB’s

A three-building, 116,000-square-foot office complex on the city’s north side has been acquired by a local buyer. Central Health — Travis County’s hospital district — purchased the buildings at 7901 Cameron Road known collectively as Cameron Center for a price of $14.4 million. The Austin Business Journal reports it’ll use the space to serve patients in its Medical Access Program with clinics, pharmacy services and a short-term detoxification center for people in need of treatment for substance- and alcohol-use disorders.

The Central Health facility will also house 50 respite care beds for people experiencing homelessness. Patients in those beds will be able to recover from previous hospital visits while receiving medical care, a strategy intended to reduce frequent trips to emergency rooms.

11th and Grand LLC and Cross Creek of Texas Ltd. were listed as the sellers.
